Not only can riders of the Adirondack Scenic Railroad enjoy the spectacular views of the Adirondacks by rail, now they can also enjoy it by boat.
The railroad is now offering its “Rail & Cruise Package,” offered exclusively online. Departing from the Utica or Thendara/Old Forge station, riders will enjoy a scenic ride through the foothills of the Adirondacks. Guests will then be transported to Old Forge to board a narrated cruise of the historic Fulton Chain of Lakes provided by Old Forge Lake Cruises.
The two hour cruise along the first four lakes of the Fulton Chain showcases magnificent views of the Adirondack’s mountains, lakes, historic camps and flora that can only be seen from the water.
Aboard the train, riders can purchase breakfast sandwiches, box lunches, cold sandwiches, hot dogs, chips, cookies, fruit, coffee & beverages. Available on the lake cruise, a picnic lunch may be reserved through Old Forge Lake Cruises that includes a 6" sub, chips, cookie & beverage. Picnic lunches may be ordered by calling 315.369.6473.
