New Boat Coming to Old Forge Lake Cruises

“Zilpha” Old Forge Lake Cruises purchased a new addition to its fleet of boats, the Clearwater and Mail Boat – The President Harrison, that grace the waterways for the 2009 season. This vessel is coming from North Carolina on Friday, April 3, 2009. The boat will arrive into Old Forge, NY on Saturday, April 4, 2009. Zilpha is 45 feet long and 12 feet wide and weighs in at 13 tons; it was built in Louisiana in 1994 and was used on the Mississippi River. In 2008 the boat was moved to North Carolina and it new home will be on the Fulton Chain of Lakes in Old Forge. The new boat will offer a 14, 22 and 28 mile cruises. Old Forge Lake Cruises is expanding its services this year. Besides the 2 hour 22 mile sightseeing cruises offered on the Clearwater, several new cruises will take place with the new boat. Zilpha will be used for the Heritage Lunch Cruise, Sunday Brunch Cruise and Shopping Trips into Inlet, Fourth Lake Cruises, fundraisers, smaller groups tours and private charters. Old Forge Lake Cruises operates cruises, tours and charters from Memorial Weekend through the weekend after Columbus weekend. From I-90- NYS Thruway: Take Exit 31 at Utica. Follow signs to Route 12 North and proceed north on Route 12 to Alder Creek, then proceed north on Route 28 North to Old Forge. Old Forge Cruises is located on Route 28 in village of Old Forge across from the Enchanted Forest/Water Safari, on the right hand side.
